Programs at Westview

Westview runs a variety of programs in addition to our regular Sunday morning service designed for both our church family and our community. These include but are not limited to:
  • Youth Groups
  • Small Groups
  • Women4Women
(If you would like information about the services and programs on Sunday morning, please see Sunday Service page)

Youth Groups
Westview offers youth programs for grades 6-12.

Junior Youth (grades 6-8) events are planned occasionally throughout the school year and summer.

Senior Youth (grades 9-12) meet on a regular basis, usually every second Sunday evening from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Upcoming events are regularly posted on the Senior Youth Blog.

For more information on upcoming Youth events (both Junior and Senior), please check the bulletin, see the Events/Calendar page, or listen for announcements during the Sunday morning service.

Small Groups
Small groups are where 'the rubber hits the road' in respect to our relationship with God and each other. Small groups help new believers mature, struggling believers revive, and vibrant believers continue to press on. The purpose of these meetings is to provide a safe place where people can come to God together with the realities of life and hear from God about His good plans for us.
We currently have three small groups running, which started in February and will run to the end of June. Each one is unique in its agenda and will hopefully interest a lot of people. Some of the groups will be familiar as they are carrying over from the Fall session at the request of the members and leaders.
  • College and Careers Group  Leader: Lisa Smith.   Runs every other Sunday at Dom's Bar and Grill on King St from 7pm - ?. It is geared towards 20 and 30 year olds and has successfully been meeting since October. Come on out for an evening of fellowship and yummies.
  • Men's Breakfast Group  Leader: Jason Carson.  Runs every second Saturday of the month in the church's lower hall. The men of our church are invited to share in a homemade breakfast and then to fellowship together. Jason is in the kitchen for 8am and welcomes helpers to prepare the meal. Others are welcome to join them at 9am to eat.
  • Book Club Group  Leader: Marilyn Toews.  Those who enjoy reading new material are invited to join this new group. Every three or so weeks, a new book will be picked to be read by the group. Once read, everyone will meet together to discuss its story and what God may have said to them. It is a great way to read authors and genres that you have never tried before.
For more information on small groups and upcoming meeting times, please check the bulletin, see the Events/Calendar page, listen for announcements on Sunday morning, or contact the office.

Women4Women

Women4Women is a drop-in for the women of the Queenston Street community. The group runs Thursdays, 10-1pm, from September to June.  On a weekly basis we offer coffee/snack, clothing exchange, haircuts, community cupboard (selling dry goods in small portions at cost) and a hot lunch.  On a monthly basis we offer story time for the children, crafts, manicures and guest speakers. Our mandate is to offer a safe place where all women are treated with respect and dignity.
